I write about the MG&M Detective Agency historical mystery stories. Ten in a series beginning with The Greek Coins Affair, and I'm working on The West Haven Yacht Affair right now. The stories are based in the southern California area during the Jazz Age of the 1920s. The gumshoes work their way through speakeasies, mansions of the rack, and famous Hollywood elite and solve the baffling murders the local dicks can't. Sherwood (Woodie) Garth was a smart, respected NYPD homicide detective before moving on to the Secret Service during the Great War. Major James Mallory retired from the army and had seen a lot of action in his Army days and yearned for more. Finally, Anneka Mallory, the major's wife and product of the new age of women's freedom. She proves herself to be equal to any man yet retains her feminine charm.
