My novel, "The Rubber Room," is the story of a young couple who fell in love with each other despite the differences in their religion and faith. KateLynn, an only child from a strict Catholic family, develops a romantic feeling for a committed atheist, Gerald Landis. I considered this book one of the best history books that I’ve written. With the touch of the 1950s Korean War, I think it adds more depth to the story and makes it more meaningful, as it is where the story turns.
The story that I’ve written also shows the diversity of the characters despite their differences in social status, beliefs, religion, and practices. This is to show that no matter how different we are from other people, some are willing to accept us. Aside from that, this book is also a product of my critical research exposing the railroad industry’s deepest secrets. I researched and checked for the best history books that I could use as references for my historical fiction novel.
